Booth

Booth is a Carnegie Mellon tradition that students accross campus participate in. In late spring, the Morewood Parking lot is converted to a carnival midway where the game booths are built by the students; over the years these booths have grown in size and complexity, and today are one of the biggest attractions at our Spring Carnival. Since booths are expensive and require extensive training in safety and builiding procedures, SDC provides funding and materials to dormitories at no costs so that all students may participate in this long-standing tradition. Past booth themes have included “Beijing Olympics,” “Alien Invasion,” “Stever House’s John Wilkes Booth,” “Snoopy’s New House,” and many more.

This year’s Midway Theme is “When I was your age…” To celebrate this theme, SDC is sponsoring several dormitory booths. In addition, SDC will be building its own booth for students whose dormitories chose not to build their own. It’s theme is “Harold and the Purple Crayon” and will be fantastic fun to build!
